PP pipe is a semi-crystalline material. It is stronger than PE and has a higher melting point. Because homopolymer PP pipes are very brittle when the temperature is above 0°C, many commercial PP materials are random copolymers with 1 to 4% ethylene added or clamp copolymers with higher ethylene content. Copolymer PP materials have lower heat distortion temperature (100°C), low transparency, low gloss, and low rigidity, but have stronger impact strength. The activity rate MFR of PP is limited to 1~40. Moreover, the uniformity of the shrinkage rate is much better than that of PE-HD and other materials. Adding 30% glass additive can reduce the shrinkage rate to 0.7%. Both homopolymer and copolymer PP materials have excellent moisture absorption resistance, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, and melting resistance. However, it has no resistance to aromatic hydrocarbon (such as benzene) solvents, chlorinated hydrocarbon (carbon tetrachloride) solvents, etc. PP pipes also do not have oxidation resistance at high temperatures like PE.

Here are the properties of polypropylene：

1, physical properties: non-toxic, odorless, tasteless, milky white high crystalline density only 0.9-0.91g/cm3, good stability to water.

2, thermal performance: has good heat resistance, its products can be sterilized at more than 100℃ temperature, in the condition of no external force, 150℃ does not deformation. Embrittlement temperature is -35℃, and embrittlement will occur below -35℃, and the cold resistance is not as good as polyethylene.

3. Chemical stability: Chemical stability is very good, in addition to be concentrated sulfuric acid, concentrated nitric acid erosion, for other kinds of chemical reagents are relatively stable, but low molecular weight fatty hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbons and chlorinated hydrocarbons can make polypropylene softening and swelling, at the same time its chemical stability with the increase of crystallinity and improve, so polypropylene is suitable for making a variety of chemical pipes and accessories, corrosion prevention effect is good.

4, electrical performance: has a high dielectric coefficient, and with the rise of temperature, can be used to make heated electrical insulation products. Its breakdown voltage is also very high, suitable for use as electrical accessories. Good voltage resistance, arc resistance, but high electrostatic degree, easy to aging contact with copper.
