Main performance
The density of PP is 0.89~0.91g/cm3. In plastics, it is only more dense than poly4-methyl-1-pentene (0.83g/cm3). It is characterized by high softening point and good heat resistance. The melting point is 170~172℃, and the continuous use temperature is 110~120℃. Good tensile strength and rigidity; High hardness, good wear resistance; Low shrinkage of molding, conducive to injection molding; Stress cracking resistance is very good (more than 1000h), 20~100 times stronger than HDPE; Good electrical insulation and chemical stability. The main disadvantages are poor impact strength at low temperature, easy embrittlement, poor weather resistance, high electrostatic property and poor dyeing property. Therefore, many countries attach great importance to the modification of polypropylene PP. Polypropylene PP can be identified by its performance characteristics. It is a waxy white substance, like PE but lighter and more transparent. It is easy to burn, after the fire can not self-extinguish. The top of the flame is yellow, the bottom is blue, there is a small amount of black smoke. When burned, the melt drips and gives off a petroleum odor.
